French philosopher John Paul Sartre said, “Hell is other people.” Isn’t that the truth?! Hell is other people! What upsets you more than anything in this world? Usually somehow, some way it can be traced back to other people.
What I have found is that, generally, people either have problems or they’re not smart, and when we are aggravated and irritated by other people it’s important to remember 2 things.
- Take some quality time alone, away from them! Nurture yourself. Take a breather. Shut out the world.
- Remember that when you’re nerves are exposed because of the hell of other people even the people you love will grate on your nerves so be kind to both yourself and others when you are in this state, because no one is exempt from torturing someone else.
Many times it’s unconscious, but when people have problems or when they are not smart they inevitably will behave in ways that splash muck onto us, and it doesn't feel good. Remember, when you are irritated, annoyed, frustrated, have hurt feelings, whatever it is, take a break, take a breather from them. They’ll be there when you return. Yes, of course, they also add to life’s joys and pleasure, of course, but everything has it’s shadow side, and other people have a dark one, it’s called they will torment you to the grave! Be good to yourself, breathe, and shut them out from time to time.
