#1: A lack of empathy creates most of the world’s problems.

When you have empathy for yourself, you’re able to have it for other people. Without empathy, we become products of violence, addiction, deceit, disease, and heartbreak. Everything in life is about relationships – your relationship with yourself, others, and a higher power. The healing and nurturing you do with yourself (often with the help of a trained professional) directly reflects the love you give and receive from others.

#2: You create your own reality.

If you can see it in your mind, you can create it in physical reality! Visions, dreams, and imagination are your roadmap to life. Everything that you see in the physical world was once a thought in someone’s mind. Visionaries, such as Einstein, Oprah, and Gandhi, are the ones who pursued their wildest dreams even though others thought they were foolish for doing so.

Your partner in the creative process is a force greater than you. This force often appears through other people who help you on your path. You also need negative naysayers to fuel your will. Transform any negative energy you receive to better yourself & the world!

#3: Treat your body well; it’s the horse that carries you through this life.

Give your body what it needs, including boundaries, and it will serve you in your life’s mission. Though our bodies are temporary vessels, they are designed to work in our favor to achieve our greater purpose and life satisfaction. It’s hard to be productive, intuitive, and to feel good about yourself and life when you are distracted by physical symptoms & imbalances. In general, eat well, exercise, meditate, get enough sleep, get regular medical check-ups, and manage your life stress.

Health is not a goal to be achieved. It is a state that must be constantly maintained. If you mess up, just get back on the wagon!

#4: Live with courage.

We live in a point in history when people are ruled by fear. Generation Y is notorious for worrying about what other people think and how they stack up to what the culture deems valuable. The truth is that most people are thinking about themselves, so it’s futile to worry about what others think of you – they’re not thinking of you! You are the final judge of your life. Taking risks is what brings meaning to a person’s life (not to mention excitement). Hiding out and playing small not only precludes you from the respect of others, it does not bring forth self-respect. Put yourself out there and do things that scare you often!

#5: Always find a way to laugh at yourself, others, and the absurdity of life.

Plain and simple: You’ll crack without laughter! Laughter produces endorphins in the body that cause it to relax. When you’re relaxed, you are at a heightened state of receptivity and wisdom. These new insights bring forth creativity, which then generate dreams manifesting into physical reality.
