Honeymoon is the bliss of a new situation driven by a temporary surge of hormones.

Any type of new situation or idea can have a honeymoon period. It’s crucial to realize that, just like a drug, it’s a temporary high.

Pay especially close attention in romantic relationships because that’s where humans are most vulnerable.

The addictive phase of new love runs on dopamine, which is temporary, and motivates addictive behavior. Hence the saying, “fools rush in” and “love is blind.”

Long lasting fulfillment comes from going deep to the truth that is revealed after the honeymoon period.

Once you become sober to the hormone cocktail and show that you are able to regulate each other’s internal state do you find out that you have something that is built to last.

Enjoy new love but wait to make major decisions until 30 months after the chemicals wear off. At that point, if you no longer love the person or situation, it’s not because they changed, it’s because your image of them did.
